Human trafficking is one of the worst human rights abuses of our time, happening in the United States and around the world. With BEST training, you can prevent human trafficking.
What is human trafficking?
Human trafficking happens when (1) force, fraud or coercion are used to compel a person into work or the sex trade or (2) a minor performs a commercial sex act. There are two types of human trafficking: sex trafficking & labor trafficking.
The typical age for a young person to enter the sex trade is 14 years old.* Of people charged with buying minors for sex, 71% are white men; 43% of the victims are black girls.* Once an individual is trafficked into the sex trade, it becomes increasingly difficult to exit. Training yourself and your employees to assist potential victims can make the difference between life and death for a young person.
"When our officers do sting operations, we place decoy ads online. Within 3 minutes we'll start receiving calls and they just keep coming. One ad will get hundreds of responses in the first few hours. We can't arrest our way out of this problem. We need our partners in the business community to help address the demand--to help stop the buying of trafficking victims."
Unlike human smuggling, labor trafficking happens when force, fraud, and coercion are used to compel a person into work. Foreign Nationals account for 57% of victims in active forced labor cases.* It happens every day and touches every industry in the United States and around the world. BEST training will teach you to protect yourself and your organization by preventing human trafficking.
