From Board President Mikaela Kiner and all members of the BEST Board
Great leaders share their vision, exude integrity, and inspire others. That’s what Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking’s current CEO and Executive Director, Mar Brettmann, has done for the past 12 years. Mar has done an outstanding job of leading BEST, and now, she’s ready to pass the baton to a new leader who will continue to empower our growing nonprofit as we continue our work to prevent human trafficking.
BEST is seeking a skilled and accomplished leader who shares a passion for the organization's mission and is ready to steer BEST into the next phase of growth. BEST’s Board of Directors has partnered with Valtas Group, a recruiting firm that guides leadership transitions for social enterprises, to help us recruit and hire BEST’s next CEO and Executive Director.
BEST takes a unique approach to human trafficking prevention by focusing on workplaces. BEST raises awareness in the business community, provides professional consultation, administers employee training, and creates opportunities for safe jobs for survivors and people at-risk for human trafficking.
Each year, BEST equips more than 20,000 employees with the tools they need to be able to identify and prevent human trafficking. This work is vital in the fight against one of the worst human rights abuses in the world today. The new CEO and Executive Director will have the unique opportunity to lead our thriving, vibrant, mission-driven organization in our fight to prevent exploitation and abuse.
